The Nanny is an American television series created by Fran Drescher and Peter Marc Jacobson. It tells the story of Fran Fine, a young Jewish woman who works in her boyfriend's wedding dress store. Overnight, he leaves her and fires her. She is then hired as a door-to-door saleswoman for a cosmetics store, and arrives at the home of Maxwell Sheffield, a widower and wealthy theater producer, who is looking for a nanny for his three children. By an unlikely and fortunate chance, he hires Fran Fine for this job, which she knows nothing about. A true whirlwind of eccentricity, standing out in the chic world of the Sheffields, she then improvises herself as a "nanny" and turns the whole family's monotonous life upside down.
Fran Fine is a young woman from a very colorful Jewish family, and whose mother is a great adept at emotional blackmail, obsessed with food and her daughter's love life. Fran Drescher is an American actress and producer. She became internationally known in 1993 thanks to her role as Fran Fine in the series "The Nanny" (1993-1999).
She got her first small role in "Saturday Night Fever" alongside John Travolta, then her first big role in 1978, in the film "American Hot Wax".
