Caitriona Balfe - Claire Fraser, Outlander

Outlander:  Claire, a wartime nurse in 1945, finds herself accidentally thrust back in time to the Scottish countryside of 1743. She is confronted with unknown and dangerous adventures, which lead her to flee and marry Jamie, a young Scottish warrior who has fallen in love with her. But this is without counting her meeting Jack, her husband's ancestor living in 1945. She finds herself torn between two dramatically opposed men and two irreconcilable lives.

 

Caitriona Balfe is an Irish actress and model. She began her career at 19 years, as a model in the agency Assets Model, then at Ford in Paris and Elite in New York. She also participated in promotional campaigns for many famous brands. From 1999, she took drama classes in parallel with her modeling activities. She made her first film debut in 2006 with a small role in the film The Devil Wears Prada. In 2012, she joined the main cast of The Beauty Inside and H+: The Digital Series. She gained notoriety in 2014 thanks to her role as Claire Fraser, the heroine of the series Outlander. In 2016, she joined the main cast of Jodie Foster's film Money Monster, alongside George Clooney and Julia Roberts. In 2019, she plays alongside Christian Bale in the film Le Mans 66. In 2021, she plays in the film Belfast, a role that will earn her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes.

Over the course of her career, Caitriona has received no less than 25 nominations, including 13 awards. In other the award for Woman of the Year at the BBC America Anglophenia Fan Favorite Awards 2015, Best Actress in a SF/Fantasy Series at the People's Choice Awards 2016, Best TV Actress at the BAFTA Scotland 2016, or Best Actress in the Leading Role in a Drama Series at the Irish Film & Television Awards 2018.

Caitriona is also the patron of the World Child Cancer Association.
