Much like Sex & the City, Girls follows the lives of a group of 20-something friends living in New York City. Marnie Michaels is one of Hannah's roommates, as well as her best friend. She is the daughter of divorced parents, serious and responsible, and has a complicated relationship with her father and ex-boyfriend Charlie.
Allison Williams is an American actress and singer. In 2011, she played Kate Middleton in the mini-series Will & Kate: Before Happily Ever After. She was revealed by her role as Marnie Michaels in the series Girls in 2012, spotted by Judd Apatow after covering several well-known songs in the web series College Musical. In 2014, she received critical acclaim for her performance as Peter Pan in the NBC musical Peter Pan Live! She got her first lead film role in 2017 in the horror film Get Out, and again in 2018 in the psychological thriller The Perfection.
